Hi, I'm Nicholas. Nice to meet you :)

I specialise in portrait, street, nature, and event photography. My work has taken me to Paris, Hong Kong, Budapest, Montreal, and everywhere in between. I shoot primarily on vintage manual-focus Soviet, German, and Japanese lenses, which provide a warmer, tone-rich feel from the typical modern auto-focus lens. I don't believe in the contemporary over-saturated and over-edited "Instagram" look; I prefer to edit "in-camera," relying on framing, lighting, and composition to pull the most out of the moment and using post-processing only as a light touchup tool.

Street photography is my forte and where I believe we can capture the human condition the best. In my commissioned work, I aim to capture the same character by working closely with my clients. Photography is never a client-professional relationship. Instead, it's a collaboration. By understanding not only their goals but also their personalities, I help my clients express themselves in snapshots they will treasure for a lifetime.

I'm based out of both Chicago, Illinois, and Munich, Germany. While my native language is English, I also speak German (Deutsch), French (Français), and Mandarin Chinese (中文). I offer competitive rates, flexible bookings, and fast turnaround.
